Soda-fired porcelain basket. The fruits are glazed with reclaimed copper from Heather's broken laptop charger. The liner is a powdery, sky blue glaze and the exterior has some gentle soda and flashing. This piece was created at Medalta during a residency this last summer. Vultures are a symbol of motherhood - they are peaceful. They also work together in "guilds".
This is a translucent porcelain and built to have very thin spots that act like windows - place in front of a window and watch the light travel through.
