This is trying something new - when people found out I was obsessed with worms they started to send me relevant information and told me their great worm stories. Since covid less of these in-person conversations are happening so I thought I'd try put some feelers out on here. Currently I'm researching:
Slipware! Especially English slipware and Pennsylvania German slipware... the squidgier and yellow-er the better... Methods, tools, pieces, academia, whatever. If you have thoughts or information or are curious about what I've got, email me here.
Related to slipware - I'm interested in Mennonite art - pottery or otherwise.
I'm looking at a lot of fraktur drawings (the art, not the font/typeface - though I recognize they are related). I'm having a harder time tracking down books about this one so if you can help or want to talk fraktur - email me!
And I'm not sure where this is going yet (might take the form of a project) but I'm really curious to hear people's stories about "household pests" - silverfish, rats, headlice, slugs in the bathtub, wasps nesting in the walls, whatever. Gross is fine. No shame, I have plenty of my own to share. I don't know what I'm going to do with these collected stories yet besides revel in them but I promise I won't ever use your story in a way that identifies you without your permission. If you have something to contribute email me or you can submit anonymously below:
